The precursor to my current site, Oh What? Oh Jeez! (title from someone’s exclamation in an episode of Food Battles of Destiny, a project within the CSX umbrella) was my first attempt at making a website. Featuring blog and portfolio sections much as my current site, the first version also included a limited form of CMS because I didn’t know what WordPress was.
For v1.0, I knew nothing about CMS’ (what’s a ‘WordPress’) and had self-taught myself everything I knew, web-development-wise. I think I acquitted myself rather well, effectively building a rudimentary CMS of my own from scratch. There are even some features of it I miss now that I’m on WordPress that I might try to add in/find a Plugin for, such as being able to click individual paragraphs when viewing articles in admin mode to activate a WYSIWYG editor for that paragraph, without a page change.
v2.0 arrived in September 2015 with an upgrade to this new-fangled ‘WordPress’ all the kids had been talking about. It was cleaner, sleeker, roughly a thousand times easier to post to and lasted until superseded by this site you sit on now.
